US: Connie Simila and Jacque Noard
Connie
Simila has lived in the Northwest most of her life.
She now resides
in Kingston, WA. with her husband Everett and her two dogs Bucko
and
Topher. Connie is an accomplished artist in many mediums, her
most recent
being fabric. With the ability to sew already there Connie
barrowed a few
quilt books from her friend Jacque and took to creating many
stunning art
quilts. Her quilts have been appreciated on display at the quilt
shop and
most recently at the Sidney Art Gallery in Port Orchard WA. Come
see her
beautiful works and get inspired. If anyone can paint with
thread it is Connie.
Jacque Noard has lived in Washington since 1990 with her
husband Tim and
raised their son (Charlie) and daughter (Katie) in a great old
house in
Bremerton, WA. Jacque took up quilting when her son was due to
arrive,
and he is now 21. She has been a professional Long-arm quilter
for 7 years
under the name "The Thread Connection". Jacque enjoys
traditional and
non-traditional quilting and feels there is something for
everyone to
choose from if they have the desire to learn.
