Our 2008 Fall Class Schedule is listed below. We will be adding to the schedule and including more detailed descriptions and pictures as we receive them -- so check back with us here on the web site or call the shop if you have any questions: (360)297-2729. “Views of Washington” Class taught by Barb Schultz and originally scheduled for Tuesday Sep. 9 has been cancelled due to family emergency. We will reschedule at a later date.

Poppy Class Connie Simila, shop owner, will teach this two part art quilt class. You will learn the basics of making a fused applique piece: reversing pattern, transferring pattern to fusible web, using an applique pressing sheet and assembling the project. This class requires homework. If you don’t have time to devote to it - don’t worry! It will be offered again. Please note time change: Part 1: Sunday, Sept. 14, noon to 3pm Part 2: Sunday, Sept. 21, noon to 5pm Class fee is $45, and pattern is required

LONG ARM QUILTING CLASS Jacque Noard, shop owner, will be instructor. Any who are interested in renting time on our HQ 16 will be required to take this class first. You will learn the basics; how to load the machine, general operation, etc... At this time the class will only be offered once a month, with a limit of two people per class, so reserve your space soon! Class is scheduled for: 2nd Thursday of each month, 10 am - 2 pm Class fee is $45

Needle Turn, Two Fabric Appliqué Class Patricia Polk will be teaching this hand work method. She is trained and authorized by Nancy Chong to teach this technique, which many of you will recognize is also used in the traditional two fabric Hawaiian quilting. Check back for more details! Class will be offered on two dates: Saturday September 20, 10 am - 4:00 pm OR Saturday November 15, 10 am - 4:00 pm Each class is $40, and patterns is required.

While you must pre-register for classes and workshops, please feel free to call at any time, up to day of class, to find out if space is available in the class you’re interested in. Your seat in any class is not guaranteed, and you cannot pick up class supply lists, until you have registered and paid for the class. Refunds in full will be given if class is canceled, or date is changed, and the new date doesn’t work out for you. We will not refund if you cancel without 48 hour notice.

Log Cabin Lion Quilt Class: Jacque Noard, shop owner, will teach this class by special permission from Martingale Publishing. Be sure to pre-register early, this class will fill up quickly! Sat. Intro to EQ6 Hesitant to use that Electric Quilt 6 software that you couldn’t wait to get? Instructor Maggie Ball can help! This user-friendly software will help you to design quilts and blocks, color with real fabrics, and print patterns you design. Join Maggie to get started. “Stack & Whack Quilt” Class Another great class taught by Maggie Ball. This block differs slightly in that the pinwheel floats on the background -- you won’t have to worry about losing the pinwheel tips. You really have to see this quilt in person. “Cube It” Class Andre Rudman developed her technique using Kaye Wood’s “View and Do Diamonds”. Now she can teach you to make these fascinating blocks! Add an interesting dimension to any hexagon block quilt, or mix and match them on their own. Class is scheduled for: Sunday October 26, noon - 5:00 pm Class fee is $45 “View and Do Diamonds” required

Hand Quilting Class Do you love handwork, have you inherited unquilted tops, or do you just want to know how to hand quilt? We’ll talk about quilting patterns, marking, batting, backings, basting, thread, needles and then -- learn about the act of hand quilting. Kingston Quilt Shop is delighted to have instructor Margaret Mathisson with us to reintroduce the art of hand quilting. Class is scheduled for: Monday October 27, 10 am to 12:30 pm Class fee is $20

“Bargello Quilts With A Twist” Instructor Maggie Ball will teach her own Bargello adapted technique, due to be published in her next book (coming soon, Krause Publications). This unique block can be turned and manipulated to create a completely different look for each quilt. This is an ‘average’ skill level class, so you must have quilting experience to enroll. Mystic Table Runner Class Choose from any of Andrea Rudman’s “Manzanita Mystic” table runner patterns in this class, instructed by Andrea. You’ll love them so much, you’ll want one for every season! Class is scheduled for: Sunday November 16, 1 - 4:00 pm Class fee is $35, and pattern is required

“Batik Pineapple” Class Instructor Maggie Ball will teach you how to create this stunning quilt, made of nine Pineapple blocks, using only two fabrics. The color variations in the batiks add vibrance and depth to this classic pattern. Class is scheduled for: Saturday November 22, 10 am - 4:00 pm Class fee is $45
